Coaching for Hope, Ian Holloway and one really Mad Dog!
Blackpool FC have been a bright light in this year’s Premier League. They have won many a neutral over with their style of football, and Ian Holloway, their Manager who always has something to say (and is almost always right!), has been a breath of fresh air at the seaside, as well as in the press room. In February 2011, All for Good were proud to be able to organise a fans event at Blackpool on behalf of Coaching for Hope, a charity using football to transform the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa and Asia.
Nearly 200 fans and guests joined Ian Holloway and Martin “Mad Dog” Allen for a pie and a pint, and a night full of banter, humour, football insight, and fundraising for the charity. Martin Allen, in his role as an Ambassador for Coaching for Hope, had recently returned from a Coaching for Hope assignment in Burkina Faso, and was able to articulate the value and impact of the charity’s work with real passion and belief. Martin’s tangerine coat even ended up in the auction and was purchased by none other than Mrs Holloway!
“Pete recently coordinated the management of an event at Blackpool at short notice and in the face of numerous logistical challenges! At all times he was calm, efficient, persistent and able to find solutions to problems as they presented themselves so that on the night the event ran smoothly and the punters went home happy!” Jane Carter, Chief Executive, Coaching for Hope
